Response to Tj's questions

What do the characters in The Hunchback of Notre Dame symbolize?

I think the characters in the Hunchback of Notre dame symbolize people in our everyday society. I see this because many of the related themes and issues that occurred in the time period of the hunhback of notre dame still occur now such as acts of obsession where some people get so obsessed over others they may even lose control and kill someone just to prove their point and I also believe that the characters symbolize an individual perspective on life according to each person because it seems to show that each character has a specific role to either help or step on someone else just to achieve their goals.

What is the theme of The Hunchback of Notre Dame?

The main theme portrayed in the Hunchback of Notre dame is obsession because of the proofs shown of how obsession can drive someone into killing another person and maybe go even as far as to kill multiple people. Obsession brought Frollo to kill the Captain in which Esmeralda was in love with.
