Response to Daniel Lee's Critical Thinking Questions


How is the city of Paris divided into? Explain three parts.

The three main parts of Paris are divided into The City, The University and The Town. These main parts of Paris are the parts where the story mostly takes place. One of the most popular places that was shown throughout the book was the Cathedral where some of the important events happened. Another place that was used often throughout the book was the Place de Greve where was portrayed as the ghettos where all the low lives, and criminal fugitives lived their few minutes left in their lives before they were hung.

What kind of relationship does Quasimodo have with the bells?

The relationship that Quasimodo has with the bells are like his way to relax. Quasimodo finds that ringing the bells has become a responsibility of his and he also uses the bells to get away from reality so that he can extract the painful thoughts and accusations that other citizens have towards him.
